Punjabi is the mother tongue of the biggest province of Pakistan. It is not only a medium of communication but is a source of our heritage, religious, cultural and historical assets of the region. To preserve and promote this asset the teaching of the Punjabi language and literature was started in 1970 with the establishment of the Punjabi Department in the Punjab University-.
